Henri Jean Daniel

Henri Jean Daniel, 90, entered into rest on August 3, 2020 at Bethany Nursing Home in Millen.  Jean was born in Swainsboro on April 2, 1930 to Ellie Garfield Hayslip and Nancy Lumley Hayslip.

She was a long time resident of Waynesboro, and a former employee of Burke County Hospital and Raggedy Ann and Andy Day Care Center where she became known as “Ms. Jean.” She loved and spent time with many children in Burke County.

She loved her church and was a member of The First United Methodist Church in Waynesboro, where she served as communion steward for many years.

Jean out-lived her two sisters, Joy Brooks, and Jackie Warren, and brother E.G. Hayslip. She is survived by her three children; Ellie Daniel, Jill DuMars and Carlton Daniel; six grandchildren, Olivia Mourfield, Joshua DuMars, Heather Daniel, Ashlyn Daniel, Kanon Daniel, and Nancy Daniel; three great grandchildren, Aubrey Marvin, Jordy DuMars, and Phoenix DuMars.

Visitation will be held at Burke Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 5th from 5-7 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Magnolia Cemetery on Thursday, August 6th at 10 a.m. Honorary pallbearers will be The Scrap Gresham Sunday School Class of the First United Methodist Church. The Reverend Isaac Salgado of First Methodist Church in Waynesboro will officiate.
