Betty Hickson (Hall) Greiner

Mrs. Betty Hall Hickson Greiner, 87, passed away Tuesday September 12, 2017 at Life Care Center of Lawrenceville, GA. Mrs Greiner was born November 3, 1929 in Wadley, GA to Charlie and Marie Hall.. . She was the youngest of seven children. She was married to Arthur Lawton Hickson of Midville and John Greiner of Waynesboro, both deceased.

Mrs. Greiner enjoyed playing bridge in her younger years and later loved Bingo and the music activities at Life Care in Lawrenceville, GA. She liked spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, GA for many years, where she taught Sunday School. She was also a member of Friendship Methodist Church Greiner Circle, Hephzibah, GA. Where she was a Lay leader. She was very active in the community in the White Columns Women's Club and the Ladies Auxillary of the Shriners. She was in the banking industry for many years as she worked at The First National Bank in Waynesboro, and Georgia Railroad Bank in Augusta, GA. She was Woman of the Year in the Business's Association in 1982 in Gwinnett County. She will be missed by all that knew her.

She is survvived by her son Athur Lawton Hickson III of Buford, GA and daughter Marie McClintock Sparks (Mickey) of Cumming, GA. Grandchildren Al Hickson(Angela), Atlanta, Dana Hickson, Braselton, Julie David(Dr. Richard) of LosAngeles,CA, Deidre Beaudette(Brian), Sarasota, FL and Matthew McClintock of Lawrenceville, GA and seven great grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Rodney Poole, Statesboro, Robert Poole, Athens, Benjie Kelly Lake Oconee, Eugene Smith, Louisville, Woody Thurman, Louisville and Ernie Blackburn of Augusta.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday September 14, 2017, with Rev Tom Oliver officiating, at Burke Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 842 N. Liberty Street Waynesboro, GA 30830. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. on day of funeral. Burial will follow in Midville City Cemetery, Midville, GA.
