Derrell Henry Tucker, age 66, of Hephzibah, Ga., passed away in the early morning hours of March 25th, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Derrell was a life long resident of Burke County, being born in Waynesboro, Ga. on February 10th, 1957. He was born to Earline Tucker and Paul Brown Tucker, Sr. Derrell was a carpenter by trade and was one of the few men fortunate enough to participate in the construction of all 4 cooling towers at Plant Vogtle in Burke County. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, watching a Sunday football game, spending time with family, and always enjoying a family BBQ. Derrell married his wife Rhonda in 1977 and spent 45 loving years with her. He is preceded in death by his father Paul and brother Winston. Derrell is survived by his wife Rhonda, mother Earline Tucker, siblings, Betty (Eddie), Paul, Jr. (Joy), and Jasper. He is further survived by his children, Derrell Jr., Lorrie, Rebecca (Mike) and Robin, his grandchildren, Bryson, Derrell III (Trey), Craig, Piper, Shelby, Katie, Noah, Nicolas, and Jacob.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 28th, 2023 at Burke Memorial Funeral Home at 4:00 pm with visitation at 3:00 pm, 1 hour prior to the service. The Reverend George Saxon and Greg Coursey will lead the service. Pallbearers will be Chris Carr, Mike Harmon, Mark Quick, Scott Doolittle, Jerry Rudolph and Don Redd. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Waynesboro. Burke Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
