Mr. Gerald Ray Collins, Sr., 71, entered into eternal rest Saturday, September 10, 2022, at PruittHealth Old Capitol in Louisville, Georgia. Mr. Collins fought congestive heart failure for several years until succumbing to this condition, and he visited relatives and friends until he could no longer travel.
Known to everyone as "Jerry," he would cruise the Savannah River with his favorite boat while enjoying his collection of antique automobiles when he arrived home. He was a retired farmer, devoted son, and kind father. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Brinson and Ollie Bell Collins; his son, Gerald Ray "Ray" Collins, Jr.; brothers Minus and Danny, and sister Millie Babb. He is survived by his daughter, Heather Battles (Wayne), and their children, Hope, Kaleigh, and Kelsey; his son's children, Brinson Minus Collins and Cera C. Moore; his sister Cheryl Salemi (Mike), and their children, Chris and Mike Salemi, Jr.: Millie's and Bill's children, B.B., Julie, and Fay; and several nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services for immediate family will be held Saturday, September 17, at 6:00 p.m. at Burke Memorial Funeral Home, 842 Liberty Street, in Waynesboro, Georgia. Burke Memorial will also provide all funeral arrangements.
