Jeanette Mallard Click of Waynesboro passed away at her residence on August 12th, 2023. She was born on the Mallard homeplace near Girard, Ga. on January 11th, 1940. She was a lifelong resident of Burke County. Jeanette attended Hurst Business College and was a pink lady at Burke Medical Center for a number of years.
Jeanette at one time was a correspondent for The True Citizen doing the Girard news. She was active in many clubs including the Edmund Burke Chapter of the NSDAR and the Burkeland garden club. Jeanette was a true southern lady and loved gardening. More than anything else she loved and was devoted to her family.
She is survived by her son and caretaker James Melvin Click of Waynesboro, one granddaughter, Rio Keates ( Ryan-John ) of Davenport, Florida, and a sister Margie Cochran of Waynesboro.
Visitation will be from 3:00pm to 4:00pm on Wednesday August 16th, 2023 at Burke Memorial Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at the Sardis Baptist Cemetery in Sardis, Ga. Greg Coursey will officiate at the service.
Burke Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
