Rita Joyce Eskew

Rita Joyce Eskew, age 78, of Waynesboro, Ga., passed away under hospice care at Doctors Hospital in Augusta on December 7th, 2022. Rita was of the Baptist faith and was retired from A & W Oil Company where she worked as an office manager.  Rita was a graduate of Waynesboro High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell D. Newton and Mattie Blount Newton, and a brother Russell Newton. Rita is survived by her son, Welber Mack Hickman Jr., his wife Cindy H. Hickman of Chesapeake, Virginia, two grandsons, Dylan T. Hickman and Ethan T. Hickman, Chesapeake, Virginia, her brother, Alfred Newton and sister, Jeannine Caillouet. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 10th at 2:00 p.m. at Burke Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Mike Flowers presiding. Burke Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
