Rosemary (Newman) Tinley

Rosemary Newman Tinley, age 82, of Waynesboro, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 16th, 2025.

Born on July 13, 1943 in Atlanta, Ga., Rosemary is preceded in death by her father, William P. Newman, stepmother Anna Newman, Mother Mildred M. Newman and brother, Mike Newman.

She is survived by her devoted, loving husband of 62 years, John Lewis Tinley Jr., three children Pamela T. Earl, John Lewis Tinley III and Susan Renfroe; her grandchildren, Katherine Earl, Fiona Tinley, Tinley Renfroe, MadiGrace Renfroe and Great Grandson, Josiah Tinley.

Rosemary was a faithful servant of God, took great pride in her family and cherished her roles as “Momma” and “Granny”.

She enjoyed Georgia Bulldog Football, golf and spending time on the beach. She will always be remembered for her strength, humor and generosity.

A visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 19th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Burke Memorial Funeral Home.
