Rosetta Lovett Gibbs went home to our Lord on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Advent Health Redmond in Rome, Georgia at the age of 83. She was surrounded by her family at her time of passing. Rosetta Lovett Gibbs was born to James Cuylor Lovett and Julia Ward Lovett on July 15, 1940 in Waynesboro, Georgia. Rosetta grew up in the town of Waynesboro, Ga and graduated from Waynesboro High School with the Class of 1958. Rosetta then attended the University of Georgia until she was offered a position at the Federal Bureau of Investigation. She later would meet her husband, Edward Mason Gibbs and start their business, E&R Interiors in Riverdale, Georgia. Rosetta and Edward lived a wonderful career of designing and installation for many clients over the years. Rosetta was a kind, loving, and a beautiful woman who would do anything for her family and loved ones. She loved her family, and they were lucky to be loved by her. Rosetta loved spending time with her grandchildren watching baseball and volleyball games throughout the years. She and Edward would later move to Hayesville, North Carolina to retire near Lake Chatuge. In 1967, Rosetta met Edward, a match truly made in heaven. Rosetta and Edward met at a party and found that they were truly meant for each other after several months of dating, they were eventually married on November 4, 1967. Rosetta and Edward were married for a wonderful 56 years until the passing of Edward in December of 2023. Rosetta joins her mother, father, sister Dell, brothers James and Walter, and husband Ed in heaven. She is survived by her brother Charlie Lovett, two sons Anthony Wayne Woods and Robert Wesley Woods, her daughters-in-law Sharon Marie Woods and Katherine Woods, and grandchildren Brittany Marie Woods and Jeremiah Wesley Woods. Funeral services will start at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Burke Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Flowers officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. followed by the celebration of life at Burke Memorial Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be at Magnolia Cemetery in Waynesboro, Georgia. Paul bearers will be Anthony Woods, Wesley Woods, Cuylor Leverett, Marcus Lovett, Anthony Lovett, and Jeremiah Woods. Burke Memorial Funeral Home oversees funeral arrangements.
